Django REST framework is by far the most popular way of building web APIs on top of the Django web development framework. Whether it's powering user interfaces for your web or mobile application, (written in a library like React or React Native), or providing a REST-style API as an integration point for third-party customers, Django REST framework lets engineers easily expose functionality in a secure, reliable way.

We've been working with Django REST framework since its inception. Tom Christie, creator and lead developer on the project, worked at DabApps during the early years of its life. With our full support, he moved on to a funded position maintaining Django REST framework (amongst other open-source projects) on a full-time basis.
