Digital Marketing and Social Media with Caroline Hamza

Social Media Marketing isn’t a role for the faint of heart. Whether keeping up with new developments, such as new features or algorithms, or educating themselves when it comes to new social media strategies, emerging statistics and data - Digital Marketers and business owners need to keep their fingers right on the pulse of the internet’s fastest-paced medium: communication.

So, as both, what’s my approach? In my opinion, I think it’s super important to read blog posts regularly, researching relevant and up-to-date expert advice and opinions - it’s an excellent source of information and knowledge to have.

In addition, the following points are ones that I adhere to with each post.

Have a strategy in place

This is essential in making sure that what you post has direct relevance to your business and its offer. A feed that doesn’t follow a clear and concise strategy can look sloppy and unappealing. A strategy is what separates a personal feed from a business feed.

Whilst businesses, like individuals, need to communicate their authenticity and the principles that lie at the heart of their endeavours if their offer isn’t clear then their audience will lose interest. I always run a theme so that the page looks neat and compelling when new people look at it. It will encourage people to follow you.

Keep up to date with your own business analytics...

so you can track what is working and what isn’t. It is also useful to try and combine posting with trending topics (making sure they are relevant of course) this will help with reach and engagement.

You should be measuring KPI metrics on a day-by-day, week-by-week and month-by-month basis. Without those metrics, you won’t know which posts you are succeeding with or learning how to adapt your copy and content to achieve the best performance rates possible.

Mix up your content

Having varied content is key in gaining interest with what you’re posting, and the increasing the audience who view them. I tend to do a mixture of company posts - this can be anything from client work, testimonials, to office photos and live work photos and videos.

Creating inspired posts that are relevant to your business whilst taking note of current conversational flashpoints is an adaptive skill that takes time to build, and is what drives a great Social Media Marketers output.

Spend time getting to know the toolbox available on each medium

Use different filters on photos - this helps make images look sharper and more interesting, I also like to add gifs and filters when on Instagram so that it makes the stories more exciting. Use images (credit where you can) and where possible, use polls on platforms so clients and followers are guided towards interactivity with your posts.

Like any Social Media Manager, I could write an entire book on the subject and this post is just a small offering for anybody looking for some inspiration on the subject.
